Every EV charger installation gets its own dedicated circuit from the fuse board, sized and protected correctly for the charger and your existing electrical setup. That is not optional, it is what makes the installation safe.
As a rough guide, a standard home EV charger in Cork costs €900 to €1,800 fitted, unit included. If your fuse board needs upgrading first, that is extra, and we tell you on the site visit before you commit.
The first step is a site assessment. We check your existing fuse board and supply capacity, because that determines whether the charger can go straight in or whether an upgrade is needed first. We tell you upfront if that is the case, before you commit to anything.
SEAI offers a grant of up to €300 toward a home EV charger. You apply to SEAI yourself and must get a Letter of Offer before any work starts, the charger must be on SEAI's smart charger register, and SEAI only pays the grant when the install is done by a Safe Electric Registered Electrical Contractor.
