An electric shower is not something you plug into an existing socket. It needs its own dedicated circuit run from the consumer unit, sized correctly for the shower's power rating, usually somewhere between 7.5kW and 10.5kW for a domestic unit.
The cost depends on how far the shower is from the consumer unit, whether the existing board has spare capacity for another circuit, and whether any of the route needs to go through finished walls or ceilings versus an easy run through an attic or under a floor.
